We started PlanItRight because we were tired of project management tools that got in the way of actually managing projects.
Why we built PlanItRight
We were a small engineering team juggling three different tools just to keep track of who was doing what. One app for tasks, another for timelines, a third for reporting. Every Monday started with an hour of syncing data between platforms instead of actually building. We knew there had to be a better way — so we stopped complaining and started building one.
PlanItRight started as an internal tool. We wanted something that combined project planning, task management, and team collaboration in a single place — without the bloat. No 200-page setup guides, no consultant needed to configure workflows. Just a clean, fast tool that gets out of your way and lets you focus on shipping great work. When other teams saw what we had built, they wanted it too.
Today, PlanItRight serves thousands of teams — from two-person startups to enterprise organizations. We added AI assistance to handle the tedious parts, enterprise-grade security because your data deserves it, and integrations with the tools you already use. But we never lost sight of the original goal: project management that actually works for your team, not against it.
